Frequently asked Questions for the Cowlitz Public Shooting Range:

  • Do I need to be a member to use the Range?
    • Nope! The Cowlitz Public Shooting Range (CPSR) is a public range for the public. The range is NOT a private club with membership and waiting lists to get in.
  • When are you open?
    • The range is open Tues thru Sundays (we patch up holes on Mondays).
  • Whats the cost?
    • The Daily cost is $15 to shoot rifle and/or pistol.
    • You can buy an annual pass for $150.
    • No charge for Active Duty Military or Disabled Vets.
    • Kids 12 and younger are free.
  • Where is the range located?
    • The CPSR is off of exit 52 on I-5:
      • Take exit 52 toward Toutle Park Rd (East)
      • Turn or continue East onto Old Pacific Hwy
      • Turn left onto Burma Rd
      • Turn right onto Toutle Park Rd
      • Continue 0.9 mi. to the end of Toutle Park Rd
  • What do I need to do to be able to shoot at the range?
    • First you must pay the daily fees
    • Then you need to watch the ‘Safety Briefing Video’ (its about 14min long)
    • Next you will need to sign the Range’s electronic ‘Safety Waiver’
    • Once those last 2 are done, the RSOs on duty will give you a ‘CPSR Safety Briefing Completion’ card.
  • What do I need to bring?
    • You need to bring:
      • your firearm(s)
      • the correct ammo for your firearm(s)
      • hearing and eye protection (normal glasses are OK for eye protection)(We do have a limited supply of eye/ear protection you can use if you forget yours).
      • targets (we do sell targets for $1-$2 each)
  • Do you sell ammo?
    • No, sorry, we do not.
  • Can I rent firearms?
    • No, sorry, we do not have firearms to rent.
