ELIGIBILITY
- Only novices are allowed to enter.
- If you shoot competition or are ranked, you are NOT eligible to enter.
- If you have won first place in previous events at our range, you are considered ranked and not eligible.
- Minimum age
- Pistols – 10 years old.
- Rifles – 5 years old.
GENERAL RULES
- SIGN UP HOURS are 10:00 AM to 1:30 PM and strictly enforced.
- No shooting before 10:00 AM.
- All contestants who sign up during this period will be allowed time to shoot.
- Once shooting starts, no assistance is allowed, including spotters.
TARGETS
- Contestants will be issued a target and will be required to write their name, time and date on it immediately.
- After shooting at the target, the contestant is NOT ALLOWED to retrieve the target, without permission from the EVENTS DUTY RANGE OFFICER.
- The target will immediately be given to the Events Duty Officer, who will immediately sign, date and put the time on it, and will retain possession for judging.
FIREARMS – General
- Any CENTER FIRE firearm that is legal to shoot at the range is allowed.
- Once shooting starts, no assistance is allowed, including spotters.
HANDGUNS
Revolvers and Semi-automatic pistols are allowed with the following exceptions:
- AR – TYPE pistols – not allowed.
- Thompson Contenders – not allowed.
- Xp-100 – not allowed.
- Slings – not allowed.
- Scopes – not allowed.
- Lasers – not allowed.
- Stocks – not allowed.
OFF HAND Handgun Shooting
- Resting any part of your body or firearm on the shooting bench is not allowed.
- Leaning against the bench is not allowed.
- You may use (2) hands, provided they are touching each other.
RIFLES
BENCH Rifle Shooting
- Slings and scopes are allowed.
- 12X power max allowed. (No higher power adjusted down to 12X allowed).
- No bipods, shooting stands, or sand bags allowed.
- Only (1) elbow on the shooting bench.
- Laying the forearm flat and shooting off the forearm will disqualify the shooter.
- No part of the firearm can touch the bench. (NO EXCEPTIONS )
- Contestants will shoot (5) shots at 100 yards. They will be allowed 10 minutes to complete the (5) shot group. (NO EXCEPTIONS).
OFF HAND Rifle Shooting
- Shooter can use slings and scopes, but no part of their body or firearm can touch or lean against the shooting bench when shooting starts.
SHOT GUNS
- 10 gauge or smaller are the only shotguns allowed. They must shoot #7-1/2 shot or smaller.
TRAP
- Trap contestants will shoot (25) clays each from (5) different positions.
- In cases of ties, there will be a sudden death shoot off.
- They will shoot until one person misses.
- Both shooters will be allowed the same amount of shots during a sudden death shoot off.
- Trap scores will be kept by the EVENTS RANGE OFFICER.
JUDGING
While every effort will be made to be fair and impartial, the decision of the judges is final.
