TENTATIVE SCHEDULE – JUNE 20, 2020 FREE PISTOL CLASS – SUBJECT TO RANGE REOPENING STATUS

Cowlitz Firearm Training and the Cowlitz Public Shooting Range will offer a FREE class on Saturday, June 20, 2020, beginning at 9:00 a.m., at the Cowlitz Public Shooting Range Education Building, 1000 Toutle Park Road, Castle Rock, WA 98611. Take Exit 52 east from I-5 to Burma Road, then Toutle Park Road which ends at the range.
The class is open to any and all interested persons, regardless of age or experience and not limited to Cowlitz County residents. It is a classroom session only, not range shooting.

The date is tentative at this point and will depend on whether the range is cleared to move into Phase 3 status of the COVID-19 phased reopening schedule, so check back as the status is updated. Class size will be limited, so reservations are recommended once we can confirm the scheduled date.

The class will cover the basic principles of pistol and revolver operation, handling, firearm safety and handgun marksmanship techniques. We will explain the specific features of common revolvers and semi-auto pistols, along with basic handgun safety. Handgun marksmanship skills including proper stance, posture, grip, sight picture and trigger control will be explained and demonstrated. This class is intended for the novice handgun shooter, but more experienced shooters may also gain some insights from our experienced instructor.
